AMERICAN IDOL!!!

LA PUG!
Okay, yes I already auditioned for American Idol, but I have pictures and video footage so stay tuned for that post, cause it's gonna be a big one!
But last week, (the day before I left for the audition) Michael and I had the privilege to speak in Beverly Hills at the Los Angeles PUG! Jules Bianchi is the PUG leader down there - and man she does a great job! There were a ton of people there and she was awesome keeping everyone on task! Also, she provided these great pictures which I grabbed from her blog.
Anyway, we met a ton of great people and actually reconnected with some people we didn't realize would be there. All in all, a success!
Afterward, we went to this yummy deli called Cantors (which happens to be right around the corner from where I took acting classes when I was 18! That was a fun trip down memory lane...) with Jules & her boyfriend Marty! Thanks Jules & the LA PUG for making us feel so welcome!

A Beautiful Evening in Downtown LA
Saturday night, Michael and I shot Teresa & Daniel Wachinski's reception at the main public library in downtown LA. It was of course very beautiful and classy, which was to be expected of the amazing coordination by Michelle Buckley of Mint Julep Inc.
After the reception Michael and I had dinner at The Standard Hotel (where we were staying thanks to Teresa & Daniel!) with Michelle Buckley, her husband Nathan and friend (and also our client!) Aaron Owens. The Standard is a very swanky hotel so I had to take some pictures of the decor! Love it!
After dinner, we went up to our room (at 1:30 in the morning!) and couldn't resist but to take some pictures up there too. The Standard's decor is exactly our taste! We LOVE the modern look...
All in all it was a fabulous event and a fabulous night!! Many thanks to Teresa, Daniel & Michelle Buckley!!

MY AMERICAN IDOL AUDITION IS NEXT WEEK!!
ohmygosh, ohmygosh, ohmygosh!!!! I'm SO nervous! Ahhh!! I am going to be auditioning for American Idol next week - and thanks to you guys I think I've decided on my two song choices. I've had to do a lot of introspective work lately and I have realized (with the help of my dear husband) that I need to stick with what I do really well. I can sing mainstream songs - but I just need to make sure that the magic that I have in my voice comes through and that I don't just try to copy other versions of the songs.
So without further ado, my two song choices are "Time to Say Goodbye" and "Power of Love."
Wait a second, (your thinking) I haven't heard "Power of Love" yet!? That's because I've taken video of it without my hair or makeup done, so I refuse to put it online. (Come on guys, I'm already humiliating myself as it is - without being prettied up some!). But I promise I will post two more videos with both those songs soon! You've already heard "Time to Say Goodbye" but I've really improved it and can't wait for you to hear!
So on July 17th everyone cross your fingers for me!! Thanks again to everyone who has commented - it has help WAY more than you know!! xoxo

Our images were seen last night on the TV Guide Network!
Our client, Teresa Strasser of the."Adam Carolla Show" and The TV Guide Network featured our images last night on her show, "The Water Cooler!" We are so excited to have our first Cable Television debut! Thanks Teresa!
We have to thank Michelle Buckley of Mint Julep Inc for introducing us to Teresa & Daniel and making this all happen!

American Idol Video # 8 - Time to Say Goodbye
First off, I want to make sure that everyone checks out the other 3 videos below. I made separate posts for the 4 videos that I put up today so that the comments would be clear - but I don't want you to miss them either!
So, I've gotten a lot of requests/recommendations for Time to Say Goodbye. It is a great song choice since its classical yet mainstream. My own comments for this song it that:
1. I need to work on not taking a breath during some of the lines
2. Perhaps be more fluid
3. Work on my face not looking so weird!
What do you guys think?
American Idol Video # 7 - Summertime
This song was requested by my dear cousin Cheyenne - so this is for you girl! I have heard Summertime sung on American Idol and the X factor and both were very well received. Let me know what you think of this version. I'm dying to get through the preliminary parts of the audition so that I have the opportunity to sing with a band! I just think that having accompaniment makes all the difference sometimes!
American Idol Video # 7 - I Can't Make You Love Me
For this video I chose to sing "I Can't Make You Love Me" which is actually more of a country/pop song. (Thanks Erin Harvey for continually encouraging me to sing Country! This is for you! :)
I have heard a variety of people sing this, however, including George Michael so it can be a interchangeable song for sure.
I want to make note that I don't even attempt to do runs like you would normally hear in pop and country. I think I just sound really lame when I try to do that. Does it not translate without the runs? Also, I feel like my voice has too much vibrato. But I kind of rely on my vibrato make things sound good, but I don't want to come off to Musical Theatre. What do you guys think?
American Idol Video # 6 - God Bless The Child
I'm going to be posting up another 4 videos. This is the first of the 4. I chose God Bless the Child because I've heard it sung a couple times in American Idol - so it's a little more mainstream of a song. Also, its not really pop. I think it was sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, so it a classic that I think can be interpreted by artists in a variety of ways. Let me know what you think!
